Have you seen it yet?  I got one of my wishlist books for $1.59 + 1 credit!

I really like it that there are hardbacks for about $2.99 + credit or $5.99 or some such. It is a deal for me because we have almost no book stores in Taos anymore.   And garage sales and secondhand stores only carry really chewed up MMP.

I have a couple on my WL and my reminder list.  I like this.  I would prefer to help PBS than Amazon.

Especially after the latest Amazon fiasco.  I'm done with them.

Anybody know if only your auto-request WL books show up on there when your shelf is on hold?

Did anyone notice that paranormal was not a category?  I typed paranormal into the search engine and it found very few books.

I have two books coming up on my WL too. I can't wait until Friday so I can take advantage of it.

That is probably because Paranormal is a really hot genre these days.  The books PBS is selling are remainders (usually books returned to the distributors when the initial sales have run it's course).

Another problem is that paranormal is a pretty wide-open category.  It can include everything from someone who has ESP to vampires.

Looks like the PBS Market is now accessible through the kiosk, though I did notice that any WL books that are available through there show up on your WL.  I'm curious what they are doing with shipping costs- I have not tried to order anything, but last week when we got the sneak peak, some people on the CMT were saying that the shipping charges seemed a bit out of whack- so they must not be using media mail?  Hmmm.  Well, only one of my WL books is available there now, and it's one I can wait on, so not going to buy it- but I still think it's a very cool thing that PBS is offering, and if it helps support the site (and keeps membership free), then I'm all for it.

I've avoided looking at it because I have so many books as it is.

I hope this doesn't cut down on people spending credits in the system.

I wouldn't think so Mary- if there's a book already in the PBS system, I doubt anyone would choose to pay for the book plus shipping for the one in the PBS Marketplace instead of just ordering from FIFO.  The shipping is not cheap IMO, so if I can just order a book for a credit and nothing else, I'm going to do that rather than buy from the Marketplace.

I think this could be really good for some of our WLs though- if more people buy their WL books from the Marketplace, then the WL is going to move faster, and that's good for all of us waiting for books that we want!

I ordered two books from the PBS Marketplace, now lets see how they do. The shipping was 2.22 a book. I got a JA Konrath and an Amy Fetzer.
