I'm afraid it's true. I had to run Chrome to open this window. Simply wouldn't do it on the new Firefox. It updated automatically three or four days ago and I've been having PBS problems ever since. Windows don't open (can't insert book descriptions on new listings). Dropdown menus don't work. Not really willing to fuss with firefox any more. Bye, Mozilla.

how do you find what version you have? Mine updated a few days ago also but mine actually improved. I'm not having any of the symptoms you describe with mine. I had a problem for a while with windows and pages not opening or loading for a while and then I re set my modem and everything works like silk now.

I'm on Firefox 28.0, and am not having any issues.  Charles, try clicking on "Firefox" in the left corner of the bar at the top of your screen (right next to File, and Edit.)  Choose "about Firefox" to see what version you are using.

Robert, I'm not an expert, but you may have to enable pop-ups for this site.

I dont know if the automatic update clears the browser cache, but in the event that it doesn't, thats the number 1 thing i would start with. Use the menus to clear your history, and make sure that cache is checked as one of the options when you do so.

Within a day of updating to Firefox 28.0, mine went walkabout and disappeared altogether.  Icons are still on my computer but nothing I do will open Firefox.  I've tried everything to get it back...nada.  No idea why, maybe b/c I'm using it on XP which is about to become obsolete?  Hopefully when I resolve the XP issue, the Mozilla/Firefox will return without further problems.

When I opened a new Firefox window tonight the FF homepage came up with a link for a "Firefox 28 User Feedback Survey - Release". The survey has only three questions and should only take a couple of minutes or less to complete if you are inclined to participate in it. (Disclaimer: I have no stake in Firefox other than as an end-user and have submitted this post only because it is germane to the original poster's question.)

The first and third questions of the survey are multiple choice, whereas the second question is open-ended that enables users to enter feedback about issues they have encountered with the new release. The text of the second question is:

"Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about the latest Firefox? What do you like/dislike about it? In particular, tell us if you've noticed anything broken, weird or not working in the last couple weeks. You have a lot of say in how Firefox looks and feels so let us know; don't be shy. Our engineering teams would really appreciate any specific data you could provide. (This includes things like URLs of broken sites, extensions that may be problematic, error messages, when this behavior started, etc.)."

The fact that the FF team is soliciting user feedback indicates to me a high likelihood that version 28.0 is having some problems.
