How is the mailing date on the wrapper determined? I printed the wrapper on Monday with PBS postage and D/C. I have until Saturday to mail it before I lose my credit. The mailing date is January 4th, so now I have to go to the post office. Obviously, I did something wrong. I know that I can mail it ahead of the date from my mailbox, but not after the date. So, how can I avoid this the next time I use PBS postage and D/C?

You just need to adjust the mailing date before you buy the postage. There's a little drop darn date selecter.  You should just be able to have the clerk put a 0.00 meter strip on it to update the date.

ETA: you adjust the mailing date for postage on that 1st print the label page where you select which label you want to print and check the weight.  There's no way to adjust the PBS mail by date.

The mailing date defaults to the latest date you selected you would mail by if you choose the I can Mail Later. If you choose the Maile within 2 days, I think it using the day you print. So you either inadvertently changed the date in the drop down or something isn't right, or they changed the system again. Are you counting the grace days (the must mark mailed datein the window on the right) or the the mail by date?  It won't match the must mark mailed date because that includes the 2 or 3 grace period days to mark it mailed after it has been mailed.

It looks like maybe that is what you did. Did you accept the request on Monday with the I Can Mail in Two Days ? That would mean Wednesday is your mail by date, Saturday in the mark it mailed window and the system would use the date you print the wrapper as the postage date.

eta:I did just test a book with a mail later selection and it is using Saturday, which is the later date I chose to mail by.
