Hi,

"Due to the impending USPS rate change, printed postage will be unavailable between 5:00 PM ET on Saturday, May 09 and 12:00 AM ET on Monday, May 11. If you print postage on or before Saturday, please mail it the same day or your package may be returned to you."

Ok, what does it mean please mail it the same day or your package may be returned to you? Does that mean it I should go to the post office and get it weighed and get extra postage? I couldn't go to the post office on today (Saturday) and I printed stuff out and had other printed out yesterday. Is it doomsday? lol.

Probably, as rates will go up on Monday so it wil cost more to mail than if you mailed it today.

From USPS:

Media Mail
RETAIL LARGE ENVELOPES & PARCELS

Weight
Not Over
(pounds)
Single-
Piece1

1 lb.    $2.38
2 lbs.  $2.77
3 lbs.  $3.16
4 lbs.  $3.55
5 lbs.  $3.94

So for all you guys that have printed out and not mailed your media mail packages today, Saturday, or prior to Saturday, this is what the rate hike is.

Oops, I just missed the boat.I guess I need to get out my stamps.

I assume that there are no changes in delivery confirmation rates. Does anyone know?

it's not doomsday.  just add an extra $0.15 postage to each book that weighs under a pound.  you can use stamps with your pre-printed postage and it should be fine as long as the package is under 13 ounces you can still drop it in a mailbox.

You can add stamps and put a 13oz package in the mail box as well.  As long as it has the printed postage on it that can be tracked.  I have done this before when I've forgotten to add the weight for an extra book.

The 13 oz rule ONLY APPLIES to packages that have ONLY postage stamps applied to them.  Printable postage or APC postage is considered to be "trackable" and can be put directly into Collection Boxes

And, USPS announced weeks ago that there's a 10 day "grace" period where items mailed with the old postage will still be delivered.  They just won't accept them at the counter without correct postage, but if you drop it in a blue box it won't be refused or sent back to you.

I'm mad now ... My General Post Master told me Friday that media rates aren't going up ... Wither she was lying or has no clue about her job and the rates!

Electronic DC is going up 1 cent and the green one at the retail counter is going up 5 cents.
