Hello everyone - I have a question. I have a copy of a book that is wanted by a few people, but not the exact version I have. I posted my version and no one is in line for it. It's a paperback and there are folks in line for the next paperback of the other version. I would love to let the people know that my copy is available. Does PBS email people when a similar book to one on someone's WL is posted?  Thanks!

If the similarity is recognized by the data base and the folks wishing for the similar book have opted to receive those notification emails , then yes they will be notified.

An easier way may be for you to post in the Book Bazaar Discussion Forum Wishlist books with other ISBNs thread. Someone looking for it may check there. You can also put a note in your signature line to let folks know you have it if you are a frequent forum poster.

I usually tag the version that's WL with the ISBN# of the one that's posted.  Like "posted under ISBN#XXXX".

Brandy,

I agree with Cheryl.  Her suggestion is what I would probably do.

I've never tagged anything on this site before.  I don't know that I would because I'm afraid I'd cause system meltdown or something ;)  My computer and I aren't agreeing lately.  I think it's trying to go on strike.

Don't fear tags.  When used properly, they can be very helpful.

Karen, if you manage to break the Internet using tags, please call me -- I wanna come see that! :-)

Cheers,

Catt

I did this recently by putting a post in the forum for the genre of the book. I had a mystery that was WL in its other versions, but not the one I had. I put a message in the Mystery Forum and it was snatched up later that day.
