NO!! I hadn't heard that yet.  Do you have any details on how much and what rates are increasing?

There is a thread in the postal regs forum where mary has posted links to the Medial Mail schedule and I think there's also a link to the generals rates too.

aaaargh!!  I guess  the fact that they have been advertising the forever stamp as good regardless of what the current postage rate is should have been a clue that they would probably raise it some more fairly soon.

Well, at the bottom of the link Kelly posted is this link:  http://www.usps.com/prices/new-prices.htm which if you click on it shows that MM rates will be 2.23 and 2.58.

Grr...I'm so frustrated by this.  I am so sick of them constantly INCREASING the rates and yet DECREASING the service (at least in my neck of the woods...).  So sad...

Oh, and also found this with some more digging:

Consistent with a new law*, prices for mailing services will be adjusted annually each May. The Postal Service plans to provide 90 days’ notice before the price changes each year.

So apparently this will be happening each year.

You know, when they created those stamps that don't have a postage cost listed on them I suspected that they had something like this in mind for the future. I'm just really surprised they are doing it in May...that just seems so soon on the heels of the last postage increase to me. :(
