Is there any way to find the page numbers on the Kindle? I have the second gen. one, if that makes a difference. My son has to tally up the number of pages he reads each night for school. I told him to just make a mark on a paper every time he turned the page for now, but was wondering if there is a better way to do it.

Page numbers is a new feature on the newest Kindle, and it only works on books from amazon.

Denise--What you could do is look up the physical book on Amazon.  It should show the number of pages the physical book has--then you could just multply the percentage read from the Kindle by the total # of pages to get an approximation of the actual physical pages.

Thanks Laura. I'll try that. I think the pages are shorter on a Kindle. Unless he read 155 pages last night. lol  It's actually quite silly to me, as he's supposed to read 300 pages every 6 weeks and he usually does that in about a week. But, he stresses about doing it "right." This time I realized it's the book they are reading for a class (and counts for the reading log), so I told him to write down the chapter where he stopped in pencil and look up the page 3s at school today. I'm thinking maybe 2 Kindle pages = 1 regular book page from looking at it.

I know on my Sony Reader at medium font, it usually takes between 2 and 3 page turns to equal a page in a physical book.  Of course that always depends on the book and font size both on the reader and in the physical book.

Depending on his magnifycation a page may Not be a page in the actual book!  My page is actually 1/3   3 page turns = 1 full book page......  Hope I making sence LOL

I have my Kindle set on the smallest font, so I've found my pages are about 2/3 to one page.  So it all depends on how big you have the font set.

I do the multiply percentage thing myself, since I like to keep up with my reading on Goodreads.
