A very good, and very long book. It does end at a cliffhanger (and a very apt one), so you'll want to read the conclusion in "Judas Unchained"

Pros:

- Great story, lots of interesting characters, many sub-plots.
- Sci-fi battles involving spaceships and wormholes.
- Interesting aliens.
- An imaginative future.

Cons:

Almost too much exposition and too many characters. I am an avid reader, but there was lots of (unnecessary) exposition here. I found myself skimming to the "action" parts. Book could have been 40% shorter and still great.

Overall, recommended for any sci-fi lover.

Great stuff!!! This is a real page turner with lots of characters and a complex plot line. Hamilton always creates a world with tons of depth and detail, plus great aliens! This is book one in a two book series.
