Are the USPS tracking numbers paperback swap lists on this website when you click on 'details' on a trade you've already sent out, the same tracking number you can put into the official USPS official site? I tried copy and pasting a tracking number into USPS.COM and that site told me they had no information available for it. The tracking info for the package hasn't been updated for two weeks and my trader hasn't gotten their package yet.  The package is this box of 19 books I sent off and I'm paranoid I got the weight off by an ounce or something. I don't mind contacting USPS to make sure everything is okay, but I need a valid tracking number first...

Are the tracking numbers provided here, the same tracking numbers USPS uses or are they Paperbackswap specific?

I use PBS tracking (e-DC only), and those are trackable here at PBS and USPS also.  Not positive, but IIRC the series used for printable postage are not trackable from all locations?  There's something rattling around in the back of my brain that says there's a location or link here at PBS (for the gamers) that can track that series...any games mods with more information??

ETA - Found the location, try this spot and see if your number tracks there.

Nope, it's still the same information as "details" under my account was given me.   The USPS site still thinks it's an invalid number as well so I can't use it to make a customer service call to USPS. I have had packages been found by calling their customer service so I think its worth finding a number I can use if possible.

Tracking numbers issued with printable postage for Media Mail postage rates are not useable at usps.com. However, the USPS does have the tracking info on the numbers (they are the ones who scan the packages and send the data to PBS after all); they just don't publish the info on their own website.

If you call USPS, they may be able to look up that number. It depends on what access the phone people have to the data. However, they won't have any more than you see on the site here. If your package hasn't been scanned in two weeks, then it's probably still at the last place it was scanned. About all they can do is call the sorting center at that location and have somebody look for it.

Looks like Deni posted this above, but you may not have seen it.  Use the below link for those prepaid DC#s starting with 9452.

Shelia -- if you are the sender or requester of the book, then you already have the exact same tracking info that's provided on that page. Kasey can just click Details on the transaction on her My Account page to see all the tracking info that PBS has. That page is useful for people who are not part of the official transaction in the system, such as games hosts or recipients of send-to-a-friend books.
