At first I thought, "Oh, that wouldn't be so hard!" But then I realized that would be 81 books! That would be just over 10 books per month January - August (if you're shooting for the 9/9/09 date), or 1 book completed every 3 days or so.

Not so easy at all! :)

LOL...I know its going to be a challenge but I dont think it will be that hard & I want to see if I can do it....I'll just go to amazon and do a search for like Damphyr and it shows books with that in the reviews or in the descriptions...the whole book doesnt have to be about the catagory...just has to have like a Damphyr in the book....do i make sense? lol ! Like the book glass houses by Rachel caine you could put it in your vampire or your ghost catagory....you might not be able to do it but...you could try...are you a member of librarything.com...its free

Sounds fun. If half of that wasn't tax season I could probably get 81 done. That's a heavy dose of paranormal though.

I'm not on Library Thing (chose GoodReads instead), but if we want to keep this thread alive for the challenge next year, then I am definitely game.  I generally only read about 50-60 books a year, so it will be good to challenge that to make a dent in the monster TBR.  I can start putting my books in piles ready for the new year soon :)

need therapy at the end...lol.. no telling what kind of critter my brain would think it was,,, but hey,

sounds fun, so i just might do it... i just hope i dont lose my marbles trying lol....

I read a lot of books every month but I refuse to lock myself into one genre....I usually have a historical romance, a paranormal romance, and an erotica all going at once. And sometimes a contemp romance also. I haven't kept track until recently but at this point I think I read 180 books a year on average. Of course some of the erotica is only 200 pages or so.

Rearranged my monstrous TBR today and think I have enough books to cover all the categories.  Might have to find about 5 more is all, of course, I found at least 81 books that were just vampires.  Yes, it's an addiction ;)

I'd certainly be willing to give it a shot...though I'd definitely need a lot of help finding books to cover the categories.

My only problem is I have read so many books, it would be hard to find new ones

That's me too Ashley.  I'm sure it would be easy to find the vamps and were books but 9 new dhampir, werecat, psychic books might be hard to find.  I know that I could definitely get the 81 paras read by September though.
