I really enjoyed the book, The Parting. Beverly Lewis seems to know first hand the life of the Amish. I rate her above all other authors on this subject. The Amish have such a different lifestyle than the "English", as everyone is called that is not Amish. We live near Amish and Mennonite communities, and her writings have helped me understand them so much better.
This series is a must read.
