They watched Danilo Silva for days before they finally grabbed him. He was living alone, a quiet life on a shady street in Brazil; a simple life in a modest home, certainly not one of luxury. Certainly no evidence of the fortune they thought he had stolen. He was much thinner and his face had been altered. He spoke a different language, and spok...  more »

This is my favorite Grisham book. I don't particularly love the ending, but all in all this is the best the man has to offer. I love the plot, the characters, the chase, the intelligence, its all great. Yeah The Firm is great, and yes, I love most of his others too, but this is my personal favorite and I highly recommend it.

This is my all-time favorite book by John Grisham. He could almost do a prequel to The Partner, because it starts out after the main character has already stolen the $90 million and has been living in Brazil in relative comfort for many months. The book pokes fun at lawyers, judges, the media, the FBI, pretty much anyone who has anything to do with the plot. I LOVE IT!

Totally enjoyed this book. The amount of detail was perfect - not overbearing where you want to skip whole pages - not so light that you feel like you're missing something. Wonderful character development, the plot weaves in and out with lots of twists.

Pretty good for a Grisham and I like all of Grisham's lawyer books.
