This is an amusing and entertaining book about a woman who works her way up to the top rungs of fundraising for the, in this case, Republican Party in Washington DC, with plenty of barbs and digs at D.C. life, but also with a very interesting main character, and insights into the quirks of political fundraising.

The author, Sexton, was in fact the top fundraiser for the national Republican Party up until recently, but the petty, inane behavior of some of the Republican politicians in this book aren't entirely partisan - it takes little imagination to see how the tiniest edit could convert this into a book about a fundraiser for the Democrats -- so don't let the political party issues keep you away from this enjoyable, fast-reading book!
