A very stylishly written and compelling look at the women behind the three most famous Romantic poets. Defying morality and the conventions of society for the sake of the men they loved, these women often suffered greatly for their passions, and for their devotion to the doomed genius of Byron, Shelley, and Keats. Often unwise in their choices, sometimes despairing, sometimes joyous, the continuing strength and determination of Mary Shelley, Fanny Brawne, Augusta Leigh and the others is clear.
