This is an excellent series!! Very likeable and interesting characters. The worst part about it is the Author ended it after only 3 books! Be sure and check out the next two books in the series Path of Honor and Path of Blood.

I have just finished this book and am starting the second. I initially came across this author with her Crosspointe series Book 1 "Cipher" which was quite detailed and engrossing. That led me to check this site for others by Ms. Francis and led to this series which is earlier than the Crosspointe ones. In any case, the storyline was detailed and the world vivid and well realized. The main characters are likeable and believable and well fleshed out for a newer author. My only problem with this book was that the ability to perform the magic feats needed for the main character to do what needed to be done were to pat and easy... She was basically handed the power on a silver platter by "The Lady" who is basically a local deity for her nation. Other than that, the book was great and I am eagerly diving into the next. Highly recommend.
