Trying to reduce the TBR so I'm wondering if it's worth keeping my Patricia Gaffney and Patricia Rice books. I've read couple of Rice's Signet regencies and liked them but I haven't read any of her big books, nor any of Pat Gaffney's books.  Recommendations welcome: should keep, or not keep; any particular books I should keep but ditch the others?

I can't speak for Rice at all, but the only Gaffney I kept was Wild at Heart.  Not that the rest of them weren't good, that's just the only one that qualified as a keeper for me.

I think just about all of Gaffney's romances are incredible.  Don't ditch any without giving them a try. I keep meaning to try Rice, but she looks kind of old-skool-dull to me. I've read one short story by her and the writing was pretty bad.

I think they are both good authors. I am more familiar w/ Gaffney. Keep and try the Wycherley trilogy, WILD AT HEART, CROOKED HEARTS, SWEET EVERLASTING.

I just cant remember the Rice titles I read, Just that I liked them but none were keepers. I only find about 3 or 4 keepers every yr anyway

I read most of Rice's and read all of Gaffney's. I grew out of Rice and eventually let them go. Still have all of my Gaffneys and it would be hard for me to pick a fav.

Thanks, everyone, for your input. I'll set the books aside and try to read at least one by each of them next month to see how it goes. I'll look to see if I have Wild At Heart, and the rest of that series.

I think you misunderstood Gail, Wild at Heart is a standalone. Most of her books are. The series is To Love and to Cherish, To Have and to Hold and... dang, I can't remember the last one, haven't read it yet. The first two are amazing.

OK, Willa, thanks for clearing me up! I must have misread one of the posts.

I did find Wild At Heart upstairs and I have To Have And To Hold in the small pile of Gaffneys - I'm sure I must have the others around the house somewhere.

It's Forever and Ever, isn't it?  I DNF'd that one, unfortunately.  I was very bored with the series by then, even though the 1st 2 were good.

I agree with Kim, the others were not bad, but Wild at Heart is the only keeper for Gaffney.
