Has anyone read either of the books in Gedge's newest series, The King's Man? The books are "The Twice Born" and "The Seer of Egypt".

I read somewhere that the third book in the series may not be published like expected and now I can't decide if I want to bother reading the first two books. The books aren't cheap and they aren't getting great reviews, but I love Gedge's work and I'm pretty curious about these. I don't like the idea of starting a series that may never be concluded, but I was thinking if maybe the sales for book two were good enough, perhaps they'd go ahead and publish book three. I wish I knew WHY they changed their minds on book three!

I just can't decide if I should use my gift card on these books or not. Decisions, decisions.....

If you've read either of these books, what did you think?

I haven't read any Gedge. I feel behind the times! Sorry I can't help you. I'm hoping to read The Eagle and the Raven in 2010.

You gotta try Gedge...and soon! Just don't read "Mirage" first like I did. It's not her best and won't put you in a real rush to read more. Try "Eagle and the Raven" or "House of Dreams" first. I think I probably like "Dreams" the best, but both are excellent!

I actually have another copy of "The Eagle and the Raven" around here. (Jeanne, don't laugh!) It's a mass market paperback, but it was bought way before my husband quit smoking last year so it probably still smells of smoke. It's too worn to be postable, but if anyone wants it, just let me know and I'll stick it in the mail.

Yeah for your hubby! Quitting's no easy feat.

If you find an answer, be sure to let us know.

Valli, I DID laugh when I read your post! I will tell all of our HF buddies on here that The Eagle and the Raven is a great book, even though I am saving the last page for the new year. You will wonder about me at this but I gave that book to another member and had to copy the last pages on my PC so I can read them later!!

Jeanne, I don't know how I ended up with so many copies of this book! I also have a trade paperback here because I want to re-read it one day. I think I've had about 4 or 5 copies of this book,; weird, huh?! ;-)
