Go to any Game Stop or similar store and purchase a PlayStation Portable (PSP) wall charger for about $15.   You might even find a used one, if you're lucky.  It works perfectly with the Sony eReader.

Carlene--the playstation portable (PSP) chargers work for the older Sonys.  The newer Sonys (350/650/950) lines actually charge with a micro USB charger and the PSP chargers won't work.  But, I do agree--don't buy these from Sony.  The ones for the nook work great with the new Sonys and they are only $15 at Barnes and Nobles.  Also, the charger I have for my droid works with my Sony 650, so make sure you don't already have a charger that works before shelling out he $$ for a new one!

Errrrmm...be sure to check what voltage your E-Reader accepts before using any charger that is not standard for it.

First, I could be wrong, so as Jennifer said--it's a good idea to make sure first--But--I think that there is a standard voltage for the USB micro chargers, so it should be safe to use them interchangeably.  All I can say is from personal experience I've used my android and my nook chargers with no problems on my nook, my Sony 650, and a friend's Kindle 3.

You can also get wall and car chargers that you just plug your usb cord into.  A lot of times these will come bundled into a package of iPod accessories.  I think I picked up a wall charger and a car usb charger with several other accessories from Overstock for about $15.

They're great for travelling, since you can use them for any usb charged devices, like iPod, e reader or phone.

I agree!  Don't pay the price from sony!  I have also ordered wall and car chargers from www.bargaincell.com and they are for the Sony readers.  They cost about 3 - 5 dollars each!  Great price, work great and reliable website!
