I have not "friended" anyone, but occasionally I have been getting offers for books that I have on my wish list.  The offers I question come when I am 200+ on the wish list for a particular book, and when I order the book, the offer gets cancelled.  I am suspecting these people are trolling for me to order additional books, which I didn't order, and cancelling the offer when I don't respond with a multi-book order.

How can this happen?

If you are concerned about others seeing your Wish List, you can disable this in your Privacy settings. To do this, click on the gray Settings tab near the upper right of your My Account page, then click on Privacy Controls in the yellow bar. Scroll down the list to find your Wish List setting and change it if desired. The possible settings are : Everyone, Friends of Friends, Only Friends, and Only Me.

While you're there, check all the privacy settings to see if there are any others you may want to change.

Yes, unless you have adjusted your privacy settings other members can see your wishlist.

I have ordered books and sometimes people will offer me other books on my wishlist.  I love those offers and gladly accept.  You can always say no.

Yes, I gladly accept the offers immediately--the problem is that unless I order extra books, they withdraw their offer.  This happens 100% of the time.

That is not okay with PBS.  Canceling because we made a mistake?  You found a stain?  Mom borrowed it?  Fine.  We are required to state that.  Canceling because the member did not order more?  Red flag of bad behavior.  Those you can report to PBS.  PBS counts how often we do this.

I always recommend sending an apology.  It is nice.  Plus it makes us look concerned and aware that we made a mistake.

It is not permitted to require an additional book order.   Against our terms of membership.

Barbara V,

Assuming that all the PM trail of your correspondence were through the book, I would contact the site administrators.
