The authors are professional archaeologists, so it's historically correct, but they are great stories and the characters are vivid.
Very interesting and adventerous. Makes you feel like you know how ancient people lived.
This book kept me interested from the first page until the last. It is a very moving story about a people's journey to survive changing times. It did not disappoint!
This is a very entertaining read. I have always been interested in this period of pre-history. Great story.
This book is a great attention holder. After reading this book you will not help but to get the rest of the series.Great topic
I found this to be a bit over the top in the weaving of the spiritual and the historical. I'd have preferred less conjecture, more fact based story telling. It struck me as a dawn-of-modern-man soap opera. But it was still fun. I don't think I'll venture on to the rest of the books though.
As good as the clan of the cave bear
A epic of prehistory. Brings the true story of the ancestors of todays Native American people to life.
Pre-columbian american historical fiction. Designed to be educational and entertaining. I enjoyed it greatly.
Gears' prehistoric novels are all astounding reads - better than Auel's. Although this does not rival People of the Lakes, it is still a super read.
The Gears made a wonderful series of books. "The People of the ..." A great book about early caveman. An interesting read. I would recommend it.
This series was a bit dry, but enjoyable all the same.
First of a great anthropologically based series beginning with the settlement of the epi glacial North American Continent and visiting tribal peoples ove the next few thousand years. I loved them all.
All the books in this series are an excellent read, good story and lots of anthropological information. Each book stands alone but also continues a good storyline.
I recently learned about this series and hoped to find something really engrossing but this is so badly written I found it unreadable.
