Just curious if anyone is hooked onto these books as I am.  I love the way the author takes mythology and twists it into a new story.

The first one is The Lighting Thief  by Rick Riordan and book 4 just came out in stores.

Oh, I LOVE these books!!  I read them all and got several of my middle school students hooked on them!

These are great books! Full of imagination. I'm waiting for #4 to get mailed to me from Amazon, but I pre-ordered it along with the new Artemis Fowl book, so I think I have to wait until that one comes out later on this SUMMER. *sits on hands* I just wish I had books like these when I was 9-12 years old...

You can find a short story featuring Percy helping Clarisse on Rick Riordan's blog.  I printed it off and passed it around to my students to tide them over while waiting on book 4!

These are great books.  I just got #4 from our library and I can't wait to read it.

My daughters 6th grade class read, "The Lightening Thief", in class.

I'm reading them, but honestly I'm not that impressed.  The writing isn't that great, IMHO.  The concept and stories are good, though, and if it keeps kids reading, I'm all for it!

They are awsome!  I'm currently in Latin class, and those books make the mythology come alive!

I haven't read them yet, but both of my sons have read them all and like them a lot.
