I just took a 4 week exercise boot camp.  I loved it.  Now I know the exercising I was doing on my own, was no where near what I should have been doing.  I am going to try to continue on my own. I'm going to log my workouts here to keep myself accountable.  My aim is m-f working out for an hour.  I am going to start on Monday and will post my workouts so if anyone wants to join in- feel free.  Or tell me what you are doing-I'd love more ideas.

If you can swing it a wii witha balance board and fitness plus make it really easy to keep track. There are a lot of different interesting ways to get exercise with it and it logs time and calories burned as well as charting progress and giving you your BMI.

Thanks for the suggestion Barb.  I do not have a WI, and not sure I want to spend the money on it.  It would be nice to be able to keep track though.

I did the first day.  Was way not as fun as boot camp.  My husband thinks it is the social aspect.  It is funner because of the people.

My first workout was:

warmup- stretching/arm circles/jogging/knees up/butt kicks/jacks about 5 minutes

then I did one minute each of: froggies,V up, heel touch, half jumping jacks, squat thrusts, side leg lifts(minute each side), lunges, oblique bridge, crunches( 2 minutes),thread the needle(minute each side, tripod hold(I needed to switch hands a few times), belly angels, pushups.  Then I jog/walked a mile and then stretched another 5 minutes.  took about an hour.

great job, but I dont know what many of those excercises are.  I laughed at squat thrusts as I remember learning them in high school.  Some 35 years ago.

I did a 2 mile walk with leslie samone with resistance and did feel the sweat.  I can see how the social things make it more fun but dont give up make it so its not boring.

I bought a groupon for a boot camp class. I have done them before and liked them. The laughter helps. I like to switch stuff up - avoid boredom and your body gets used to whatever you are doing if you don't change or increase weight, reps,... Good luck!!!!

Hi Lee and Stephenie;  Good to see you both!

Day two Tuesday August 28th- tried repititions instead of time today.  Found out I really can't count.  lost count many times.

warm up- jogged to the end of my road and back- circuit one:side hold and reach 10 each side, reverse curls 12, side crunches 20 each side, lunges 8 each side, knee taps 4o each side.  Ran to the end of my road and back and then repeated circuit one.

Circuit two:elbow to knee flare 8 each side, slow bicycle crunch 12 each side, vertical scissors 8 each side, squat jumps 8,regular squats 18.  jogged to end of driveway then repeated circuit two.

circuit three:calf raises 12 each leg, cross country 12 each leg,arm rotations 40 each side, push ups 10, plank 45 seconds, full situps 15. jogged to end of driveway.  repeat circuit three.  ran to end of road and back.  Stretched.  Took  an hour.

I've been dong my exercises after work.  but if you think dishes were not getting washed before- they really are piling up now!

for Wednesday I set up 6 stations in my driveway.  One with weights and one with a mat.  I put two or three exercise cards at each station.  I would do one station and then the weight station, then the next station and back to the weights.  the cards give a beginner/intermediate/and advanced # of reps.  I did the beginner the first time at the station then the intermediate then the advanced.  At the end I collected all the cards and went thru the whole thing once more.  Took just over and hour.

Not sure what I can get in today.  I'm afraid if I do not do something then I will stop doing it all together.
