Okay, I just want to say thank you to everyone who puts their wishlisted books on auto-request.  This is one feature of the new WL I will be happy to see, books defaulting to auto-request.  I know things come up, and I know there are good reasons not to, but, darnit, as the person ready to send a book out, it sure is frustrating to wait for someone to answer their WL request and accept the book!

Thanks for letting me rant!

I agree Amy!  Everything I put on my WL I want to read so it's on auto-request.

Here, Here!  I post a lot of  WL books. It's very frustrating when you have a bunch of books to mail and there is just one that hasn't responded to the WL offer. So you either hold everyones books up and wait or you make an extra trip to the post office. That's one reason I love the printable postage because you can just drop the smaller book orders into the blue box.

I should mention that mine are not on autorequest at the moment. But I check my account at least twice a day and always accept WL offers.

Is there still the one hour delay for AR here?  Because I just noticed on SaDVD that it's a true auto-request; it goes right through.

This is one of the biggest reasons it annoys me!  If you check your acct all the time, its no big deal, but, I had one book go through 4 people who had it on the WL and didn't even respond until the 5th person did.  So, I held another book up a few days waiting on that book, then finally mailed it and had to make 2 trips to the PO!  Thanks for the support folks!

I don't auto request books b/c I actively belong to 3 other booking swapping sites...and I've forgotten to remove a book from my WL and ended up with 2 of the same book!  This way I always have an opportunity to double check by TBR pile before agreeing to having it sent!  So even if it does default...I'll be changing it to notify....  But I almost always respond to my notifications the same day.

That's my only concern about it going to automatic request.  I don't have mine on autorequest because I had one offered to me one time when I had just bought it at a used book store that same day.  It's the only time I turned down a WL book.  But I guess I can put my WL on hold when I know I'm going to go trolling the used book stores.  I'll probably trim my WL considerably when it changes.

I usually respond quickly as well but as the site is set up for certain waiting periods it continuously amazes me how impatient some people are.  Why? :) )( <---- see smiley face, don't be offended)  Go with the flow, go with rules, ACCEPT the rules, ACCEPT the wait time.

I post tons of wishlisted books because I work in our large FOL weekly (in addition to my other job) and come across wishlisted books regularly, which means regularly I have to wait for books to be accepted or declined and ocassionally this means an extra trip to the post office.  It's just part of  this Web site, part of the game - it's not a surprise. Accept.

And despite it defaulting to auto-request, I think most people are going to choose not to have them auto-requested. I won't do auto-request that's for sure, unless I'm out of town.  Then I'll auto-request the ones that I'm in the No. 1 or No. 2 spots so I don't miss the book.

Patience. :)

You know some people have every intention to check daily but things CAN happen.   I know some PBS folks who have been without electricity for the past few days.    Ooops - they normally check every day but couldn't this time.    It's not like they are being negligant just to irk people off.         EVEN if you check every day you might have kids who get sick, or a spouse that is in the hospital.   Life DOES happen while the rest of us are sitting at our computers.
