I read this book back when I was a teen in the mid 90's. The story stuck with enough that 12 or so years later I saw the old book on a auction site and had to bid on it! Made me laugh all over again. It is a historical romance, set back during the American Revolution. Even for being a thicker older romance it is a fast read. The sex scenes are more funny then super hot melt your undies sexy, but they are meant to be that way. LOVE this book and I am not big on pure romance type books, I prefer mystery/thriller, cop/serial killer, or paranormal books, but this one is a great must read for anyone who enjoys a little action, a few laughs, and a lot of romance!

FROM THE BACK COVER:

A DARING PIRATE WITH A PRICE ON HIS HEAD, HE WAS ALL SHE'D EVER DREAMED OF...Tall, lean, his blue eyes blazing from behind his silken mask, his powerful body wrapped in a black cape, he was called "The Phantom." Danielle Sheridan had only to set eyes on him to know she adored him. He was her hero, her hope of freedom, and she secretly prayed "The Phantom" would rescue her from a fate worse than death: marriage to a man she did not love.

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. The characters were great. My favorite of course being " The Phantom". It was a really sexy, really funny book. And the book cover was THE BEST I have EVER saw. It's a book worthy reading, and the cover is to drool over. I have never seen a man that looked that good in real life. If you don't own this book, you should.
