The person who sent me this stained, water damaged, mildewy smelling book doubts the damage.  Are these clear enough?

Thanks!

ETA - I wish I could take a picture of the smell.  The mildew is killing my allergies, so I had to toss it.  I was really looking forward to reading it, too.  Oh, well, I have lots of other books to read.

the last picture tells all.  i can see staining spots which makes it unpostable.

Without a doubt, that book is unpostable due to stains and water damage.

Yes, smellivision and smell internet need (?) to come soon.  I hope you took all this outdoors - it doesn't need to be in your house at all.

They certainly show the stains and water damage very clearly.

The last few pictures especially show the damage. It is an unpostable. If the sender refuses to refund your credit, be sure to mark the transaction as unresolved.

I'm sorry. I have looked all over this site and I can't find what RWAP means! Can someone enlighten me?

And there's a happy ending - he returned my credit without any fuss after the second PM go round.  Looking at his shelf, I'm pretty sure mine was one of the first books he sent out.  Hopefully, he'll be sending out postable books in the future!

Ruth - sadly, I took the pictures in my office.  I had to open a window after - brrr.

I could top that with a blood stained book. It even has bloody fingerprints in it. 8-O

RWAP = Received With A Problem

I had my first RWAP just recently when I received a paperback instead of the hardcover. The 2000 paperback edition I received is a very nice copy containing the original 1991 copyright content. I wrote the sender about matching ISBN and added that I'm good with the copy.

This book is completely cursed.

I received another WL offer for it (yay), but when it arrived, it had been eaten by USPS (boo).  So, back onto my WL it goes!

Perhaps the police would be interested in your potential ... murder ... mystery? :-)

It's not funny, but it is.  What book is it, if you don't mind me asking?

i know.  It's completely hilarious at this point.

The Book of the New Sun: Shadow & Claw by Gene Wolfe.  I think this copy is at least readable.

No plastic, sadly.  Apparently, this was the first book this member ever sent out.  He was super apologetic, and I didn't ask for my credit back, but then I noticed he returned it anyway.  He seemed very nice, and the sad thing was, absense of plastic aside, the book was wrapped very well, and if there hadn't been a torrential downpour, it would have been fine.

I can definitely read the book, but obviously, I will NOT be reposting!  Mr. Caviglia has said I should only read it at home, as I risk being struck by lightning, or a freak tiger attack if I risk leaving the house with it. LOL!
