Michaels serves up a heart-pounding romantic thriller in which what starts out as an adventure turns into an ordeal. Pediatrician Lorrie Ryan is looking forward to taking her young hemophiliac nephew, Davey, camping while his parents fly to Florida. The family has been under FBI protection because Davey's father is testifying for the prosecution in a case involving a murdered student and a drug syndicate. Lorrie is glad to spend time alone with the boy because her sister seems more mothering of her professor husband than her son, and Davey is glad to be with Aunt Lorrie because she lets him be himself rather than try to conform to his mother's rigid standards. But their idyll is brief: Davey disappears. Lorrie calls the police and FBI agent Stuart Sanders, and she and Stuart unite in their search for the missing boy, who needs his daily injections. As fast paced and exciting as always

This was my first book from this author, but it won't be my last.
i really enjoy fern michaels books an this is another good one.
Fairly predictable, although a 7 year old hemopheliac as his own hero is pretty innovative. A high percentage of characters I didn't like, but that little tyke sure grows on you.
Deep in the woods, a cunning killer is hiding the evidence of his most recent crime. But his work is interrupted by an unwelcome visitor...a little boy who has seen it all...and must be silenced...
Pediatrician Lorrie Ryan has been looking forward to this camping trip with her seven-year-old nephew, Davey. And Lorrie will be on hand to administer Davey's daily, life-saving dose of antigen. Now, the hunt is on for a child growing weaker by the minute...and a cruel predator whose twisted game of cat-and-mouse has only just begun...

I really enjoyed this book. It tugs on the heartstrings and has a bit of suspense. Light reading but I wanted to keep picking it up and feel good.
Seven year old boy witnesses a killer covering up his crime and a nightmare of survival follows.
A killer is hiding evidence of his most recent crime when an unwelcome little boy has seen it all and has to be silenced.
A heart pounding thriller - in one shocking moment little Davey disappears and the only one who can help Lorris is FBI agent Saunders. A twisted game of cat and mouse.

even though you could guess how it would turn out
it was fun reading to actually read what happened to get to the end you suspect.

deep in the woods a killer is hiding the evidence of his latest crime. but his work is interrupted by an unwelcome visitor a little boy who has seen it all.
A pretty good story about a hemophiliac boy in peril, his aunt and an FBI agent.
The FBI provides protection to murder witness Montclair College Professor Andrew Ryan from a drug cartel that killed a student Jason Forbes. While Andrew and his spouse Sara head to Florida, her sister Lorrie takes their seven years old son Davey camping. Davy looks forward to the trip because his aunt allows his freedom to be himself while his mother disapproves of him perhaps because of his hemophiliac condition.
Cudge Balog kills his best friend Lenny Lombardi when the man tries to collect a debt. Cudge and his girlfriend Elva St. John start to bury the body at the Wild Adventure Campground, but Davey sees them. Cudge goes after the child who flees. Lorrie, worried that her nephew is missing calls the police. FBI Agent Stuart Sanders, who has been assigned to the Ryan family, arrives at the campgrounds. He and Lorrie already attracted to one another, work together to rescue a child in need of daily medicine for his condition.
The suspense is very high as the clock ticks away not just because of the Cudge factor but also because of the needed dose of medication. Fern Michaels' fans will appreciate the lead duet though they are cut out of the hero handbook pro-am teaming and the little boy starving for affection, but hiss at the interesting tundra-like mother (who is conveniently eliminated) and the father who acquiesces to all her demands at the cost of their child's welfare. Cudge is a dumb thug while Elva, whose name she took in homage to Elvis, is frightened of him. Quite different from the Texas-Kentucky-Vegas triangle, Ms. Michaels' readers will enjoy this thriller.
Truly a unique book.. Drama, Hated to put it down.
Author Fern Michaels. A heart-pounding thriller...as fast-paced and exciting as always. It is well-paced suspense and telling descriptions.
You'll be chewing your nails late into the night worrying over the fate of the little boy lost.
A heart-pounding suspense thriller
Great read. Could not put this book down.
First book by her and wasn't really all that impressed. Not much romance and the secondary characters were really unrealistic, in my opinion. I guess there are people like that in the world but I've never met any. Skimmed through parts of it but was able to finish so it was okay but not great.
THis is a story of adventure and love, a great combination.
