Annapolis had the No Image Available listed as a proper book cover for med and large, while there was a real image in the small. I submitted a Book Data Edit so when that's approved it might fix the problem. Is that the only one that had the problem? It looks like the other blue cover doesn't have any image on file.

Thank you, Melanie, for submitting an improved image for this book.  I'm on the image team and we appreciate when we receive help in getting corrected images into the database!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

PS  Anyone else that would like to help and submit an image, here are some guidelines from the Help Center, and you can always feel free to PM me anytime if you have questions or have problems with a submission:

  • Find a cover image for the book on another Internet database, or scan one in or take a digital photograph
    • The image must be less than 5 MB (BUT OTHERWISE, BIGGER IS BETTER OR YOU HAVE THE PROBLEM WHICH STARTED THIS THREAD IF THE ORIGINAL IMAGE IS TOO SMALL.)
    • The image must be in .jpg format
    • The image must be cropped to show only the book cover  (THIS IS A BIGGIE - MOST REJECTIONS ARE DUE TO UNCROPPED IMAGE SUBMISSION!!!)
    • The image can't be one that has "Look inside!" (some images from Amazon.com have this) or similar logo visible.
    • The image must clearly show book title and/or author information (NO HARDCOVER IMAGES WITHOUT IDENTIFYING INFO.)
  • Scroll down to the bottom of any page on the site and click o
  • Click "Upload Book Covers"
  • Enter the ISBN for the book
  • Browse your hard drive for the cover image
  • Click to submit it
  • The Image Approvers will usually approve images quickly. (WE TRY TO HAVE THEM APPROVED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY WHENEVER POSSIBLE, BUT IT CAN TAKE A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE CORRECTED IMAGE SHOWS UP IN THE SYSTEM.)

Oh Robin, you give me too much credit :), the image was actually there. The system just had Yes on blue covers for the med and large images so the shelf wasn't using the little image, I just submitted an edit to toggle those to No.

Well, I'll take this opportunity to express my appreciation to those who work at approving book cover images.  I have submitted a fair number of images and the image team has gotten them up very quickly (not, always, but usually within 24 hours).  I'm sure it makes a big difference in the circulation of my bookshelf.  I know I am highly reluctant to order a book without an image showing.  Once you've submitted an image (as per the instructions above) you'll see it's not very difficult at all.  With my scanner I can upload an image within 5 minutes and I try to do it when immediately after posting a new (and image-less) book to my bookshelf.

Wow! Just paid closer attention to my shelf and it looks like someone helped me out with book covers too!  I have a slightly different setup on my new computer and haven't yet quite figured out how to resize the images once I scan the covers.  A big thank-you to the member(s) who helped me out!

I believe a number of data/image team members took on member shelves as projects for editing :-)

    Cheers,
