HIlarious, heart-touching, spiritual - a delight to read. Short stories from the life of a missionary wife.

I have mixed feelings about the book. While I hated its preachiness, its format of anecdotes with accompanying "lessons learned" section (quickly skimmed over) made it pretty easy and quick to read. A collection of vignettes of missionary life in Africa, I was disappointed to find most of the stories rather tepid, but the descriptions of African life and culture were interesting. My assessment is of course colored by the fact that I have serious reservations about the whole concept of missionary work in the first place, but I can respect the author's faith, and completely empathize with her love of family, both of which come through strongly in the book.
