This book is great. It has illustrations of the muscles a particular exercise targets. It is a good companion to any exercise regiment. However, I don't recommend this book unless you have had prior experience of Pilates because it is important to know how to hold your neck correctly so you won't get hurt. I think 3 or 4 classes with an instructor would suffice. Overall it is a great supplement for those who know a little Pilates and want to do certain series on their own outside of a class but can't quite remember how they go.
Easy to follow text, lots of pictures to help explain the various positions and movements. Not as good as watching a video or attending a class, but a good place to start or refresh your memory if you haven't been to a class in a while.
