You might have better luck posting this  in the romance forum.  Good luck.

Bks 1 and 2 are in the system but books 3 -5 are not so you might want to add those to your WL.  I'm looking forward to reading these ones too.  They look interesting :)

They're listed as historical romance.  I'm hoping they're heavy on the historical with only moderate romance....

I love the Pink Carnation series.  It's set in two different time frames - modern England and the Napoleonic era England & France.  IMO the modern portion of the books is a blend of chick lit & romance.   This historic portion of the books - which is the majority of the each book - is what I would call historic romantic suspense (a blend of historical fiction, mystery and romance).

One of the definitions of a romance novel is that most have an HEA (happily ever after) ending.  And the Pink Carnation series definitely fits that bill.   But I've read reviews of the books from plenty of people who love the books and claim that they don't read romance.  Go figure!

I was just suggesting she might have luck posting on the other forum too. I realize after looking at the post how it seemed.

Agree with Lynne, these are chic-lit and HF; to me there was too much chic-lit.

Ew. I might have to repost these. I think I only have the first book, though. I'll have to go home tonight and skim to be sure.

I just finished the first one, and it is not my cup of tea at all.  Way more romance than I was expecting and not much historical.   The part set in modern times was really minimal so the whole book seemed heavy on romance to me.

I didn't "read" these books, I actually listened to them and they were a cute story.  They are an interesting mix of historical romance, espionage (sp? too lazy to look it up), and current romance with some mystery thrown in.  The first 3 were excellent.  The 4th was definitely mostly romance and a big stretch.  I haven't listened to the 5th one, but only because the reader is different and the voice of the person reading it annoyed me.

I read a lot of romance and I would not classify these as just romance.  They are a little bit of everything: historical, comedy, mystery and romance.
