Wanted book, didn't care what binding.
Put both pb & HC versions on Wish List.
Got pb version. Deleted HC version from WL.
Delighted with book. Want the HC.
Put HC version back on WL.

Today: pb version shows up in account as auto-requested.
ISBN's of pb in auto-request and HC in WL are different.
Email settings: do *not* have checked "I do not want Wish List - Other Versions."
Should get emails about other versions, right?
Received no such email.

Isn't approval required, before an alternate version
of a WL book is requested?

Where did I go wrong?

Fiona

Not all the ISBN's of different versions/publishers/reprints/editions are recognized by the PBS search system.  So it is common that some versions will go unrecognized as being one to notify you about being "siilar".

The system wouldn't order a book with an alternate ISBN, it not set up to do that it only tells you they are available. Did you happen to mark the PB version RWP for some reason? It will automatically go back to your WL then.

If you use the Conact Us link and ask, they can tell you exactly when it went on to your WL and how. I've asked before and they even told me what else I did in that session to show I had in fact added the book to my WL all on my own.
