I'm a member over at planttraders.net, and I just have to say how much I love it there.  It's free to join...it's just a community of garden-flower lovers who share seeds, plants, info, advice, and pictures.  Teena is the forum moderator over there, and she's so generous.  If you need advice, project ideas, seeds, or plants, it's the place to be.  Each month, there is usually some sort of swap going on.  I just love it!

When you join, it says you need an invitation, but you don't.  That's just a way to keep out trolls:)

We have a local plant swap, run via a Yahoo Group. They have swaps in the spring and fall. You bring one plant, and you get to take one plant. Afterwards, there are TONS of plants no one really wants (they brought them just to thin their gardens) so beginners can end up with lots of free plants.

I did most of my flower beds this way.
