I enjoyed Beastly by Alex Flinn. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm adding all the books I have tried here, on my other book list "Books I've Read in 2011". I've added comments about each one and I welcome you to do the same if you wish.

Taking the first one off my list, with the most votes. I finally got Water For Elephants in my hands! Only read the first chapter and I'm already in love. Thanks for helping find this one. :)

My teen daughter and I both loved Thirteen Reasons Why. DD loved Thirst#1 & says it's his best. She couldn't get into Green Angel. I'm looking forward to Little Bee, Room, & Water for Elephants. I don't recommend The Shack unless you're deeply religious.

Comment added 4/13/11 by PBAddiction - SC:
If you are interested in YA fiction books that have characters living in the Civil War era I would recommend: Two Girls of Gettysburg by Lisa Klein

Recommend: The Summoning (Darkest Powers Book 1) The Awakening (Book 2) The Reckoning (Book 3) By: Kelley Armstrong

Comment added 4/10/11 by Danielle W. :
Also, I just finished Water for Elephants and loved it. I can't wait for the movie to come out!

Comment added 4/10/11 by Danielle W. :
The Trouble with Magic was a very fun, quick read. I agree with Wendy about the first Vampire Diaries book, but the second book in the series picked up steam and sucked me in. The show is completely different from the books though.

Comment added 4/8/11 by TomeTrader :
The Book Thief and March are excellent and a bit more sophisticated than the others. Grab a dictionary when you read March.

Comment added 4/8/11 by Sandy H. (Frohike) - OH:
Thirteen Reasons Why is an excellent YA book that deals with the aftermath of teen suicide. The Thirteenth Tale is one of my favorites. Just finished The Adoration of Jenna Fox and it was pretty good, but maybe borrow it instead of spending a credit.

Comment added 4/7/11 by myhotstylist:
LOVED Beautiful Creatures! Amazing book! Southern, gothic, mystery, romantic YA paanormal! A great combo of all these genres!

Comment added 4/7/11 by whippoorwill:
I'd skip The Education of Little Tree all together, but that's just because I find the story surrounding its publication so distasteful (found to be a fake memoir written by a white supremacist) but YMMV! Once Was Lost was excellent.I love Sara Zarr!

Comment added 4/7/11 by Lisa A. (NeedyBookLover) - IL:
Oh damn! My recently pared down wishlist just exploded again! I enjoy the Alice Kimberly series (I am waiting on the 6th). The Shack and Practical Magic were good too. Thanks for the great list!

Comment added 4/7/11 by Kristen H. (tigger5677):
13 Reasons Why is relatively short but very powerful read.

Comment added 3/31/11 by WENDY C. (wendyk96):
I didn't enjoy The Vampire Diaries. Is is not nearly as good as the TV series.

Comment added 3/31/11 by WENDY C. (wendyk96):
The Wicked Lovely series is really good too.

Comment added 3/31/11 by WENDY C. (wendyk96):
I loved City of Bones, Water for Elephants, Something Blue (better than Something Borrowed), Shiver and Wake. I would also suggest The Hunger Games if you haven't read it.

Comment added 3/31/11 by myhotstylist:
Ghost Town was really good. It can stand alone but is better understood if you read Glass Houses first :)

Comment added 3/31/11 by myhotstylist:
