some books for my uncle.  He loves western novels and has read everything Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour have written.  He is elderly and not in the best of health, so I wanted to send him some books to read when he's feeling bad.  I don't read the genre and have no idea where to start, so I was wondering if you could give me some suggestions on westerns he might like based on his love of the above authors.    Any deals you might be offering would also be helpful to both of us.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.  TIA

Clair Huffaker is an excellent western writer.  My two favorites by him are The Cowboy and the Cossack and Guns of Rio Conchos.   I hope your uncle will enjoy them.

I posted this on another thread and somwone suggested that I let you know about it.

I have a book called Cowboy and the Kid. by J. Brim Crow 111

It is full of black and white photos of old cowboy stars. This would be great for some boy who grew up in the 30's maybe that used to go to the picture show on Saturday ! LOL\

Cowboys like Gene Autry, Tim McCoy,William Boyd, Tom Mix, Even cowgirls likeEvelyn Finley,Mary Hart

(I just pulled some names out of the book, as I am too young to remember most of these.

although, there are some of John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart, and I do remember Maverick and bonanza ! LOL

Chapter titles:

Three Views of the Cisco Kid

A day of Thrills and Action

Portrait Gallery

I would love to pass this book on to someone who would enjoy and appreciate it.

My grandfather has read all the books as your grandfather has read as well. He gives me his westerns to post on here and he LOVES William Johnstone. I'm doing a 3 for 1 on my shelf right now and you can look at all the westerns up there. All those westerns came from my grandfather so ten to one he has the same taste as yours does. And I have almost a whole box full here of westerns he has given me to post on the site. So if you're interested let me know!

I think it should be included as a western but it deals with the plains and the buffalo in about 1840-1860.

It is called "The last hunt".  It is out there somewhere.

In fact if anyone has it, I would like to trade or purchase it
