This was a fun quick read. It made me chuckle several times.

This is one of her better ones of the "between the numbers/Diesel" series. It features the whole gang, including Grandma and the lit'l guy we met in 6, off to Atlantic City where most of the action takes place.
I don't know if it's just me, but I really think that this series has been going downhill with the past few books. It just doesn't feel as funny as it did when I had read the first books with the Plum gang. The characters never change and you can pretty much guess how every book is going to end. I also don't know why the author bothers to have characters who work with law enforcement in this book because it seems like nobody knows how to obey the law. If this were any other series, the characters would've been arrested or in prison by now. I've had to learn to read it as a parody of actual mystery books because so many things are just so out there sometimes. I don't even laugh as much as I used to because the parts that are supposed to be funny just feel like they've been done before in this series. (I mean seriously, we already know Lula is an awful dresser--I don't need another fashion update every ten pages.)
Overall, the book is weak, but a fast read, and I'm glad all I spent on it was a credit.
The Plum Books that are "in between" the number series are ok - the story lines seem to be a bit silly, whereas the number series books have a realistic plot.
