I want to do some poetry with my boys (ages 9 and 12). I was thinking Kipling but there is none in the system. I could put it on my wishlist when I get room but in the mean time, does anyone have any recommendations for other authors especially ones you might have on your shelf? Thanks

Not on my shelf, but Shel Silverstein, Jack Prelutzky, & Jon Scieszka are favorites here!

To the person who privately suggested Ogden Nash, Thank You!!

The Porcupine

Any hound a porcupine nudges

Can't be blamed for harboring grudges.

I know one hound that laughed all winter

At a porcupine that sat on a splinter.

I have some poetry compilations full of excellent poems by many authors, including those mentioned above in addition to Robert Frost, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Emily Dickinson, etc.  They're not being swapped but I like Sing A Song of Popcorn and Imaginary Gardens.  My 9 and 12 year old sons enjoy many of these poems.
