This little book basically provides a short history of the uses of medicinal plants in ancient Greece and Rome, which is very brief and not very comprehensive. The second part discusses the uses of some of the more common plants that grow in the area around Pompeii that were used in ancient times and are still being used today. If you're looking for a detailed history of medicinal plants this isn't it but if you're going to be visiting the area it might be cool to be able to identify some of the common plants still growing among the ruins!
