A good story, set in the time leading up to the eruption. I believe that they worked in characters based on some of the bodies found at the actual site. The main character is a water engineer, and he sees signs of changes in the water that he doesn't know how to interpret - so it's a sort of retro-scientific-mystery. Well done.

I found this interesting. Learned about the Roman aqueducts, architecture. Reasonably short. The reader did a good job with multiple voices.

This was my first time listening to a Robert Harris book. It was well read and interesting throughout. A very good period peice with a lot of interesting descriptions about what the last days of Pompeii would have been like. I enjoyed it very much.

This is a great adventure. In the final days before the eruption of Vesuvius, an engineer is sent to the coast to repair the damage to the Augusta aquaduct. Interesting, exciting, great sense of nature vs omens, portents, and corruption. It's a 5 CD abridged version, but still thoroughly enjoyable.
