Totally loved this one. I am putting this one on my all time favorite list. A sad and funny book, well written with great characters.

Raleigh is an insurance salesman with no fun in his life. He has a wife who is involved in the community and whom he hasn't been spending much time with and a pair of twin 17 year old daughters whom he just doesn't "get". He and his brother, Gates, are estranged and he hasn't heard from him in 5 years. His father disappears from the hospital where he has been admitted for tests, along with a young girl. Raleigh begins getting messages from his father who sets a series of seemingly impossible, and totally off the wall, tasks for him to do. What ensues is a total comedy of errors. Wonderful cast of characters! The entire time I was reading this one I was picturing it in my head as a movie. I really, really loved this book.

This is the third Keillor book I've read and it is even more fun than the previous two. Weird characters and situations, with descriptions only Keillor can write.
