Every once in a while when I'm looking to see if I want to post a book, it shows "Order this Book" and the other icons, but doesn't show the POST THIS BOOK.  Why?  It doesn't happen often, and usually it's no problem, as I decide not to post the book, but why wouldn't it show on all books.  Thanks.  Pat

Did you look under the other options?

Pat, do you go to "post books" on your tab?  Just put in the ISBN# and click to post the book.

If you're just looking it up in the search feature it won't give you the post this book option if it's already available in PBS. It'll only say Post This Book for WL or books that aren't posted but not WL either.  To post books you should go to the post books feature and put in the ISBN.  This is the best way to insure that your book matches in all categories: binding, title, author and ISBN. 

No, I put in the ISBN and then the page comes up that says - ORDER - POST BOOK and the other options, but every once in a while a book comes up where the POST BOOK option isn't there.  All the others are, but not that one.  Pat

Right but are you putting the ISBN in the search feature?  Or are you going unter Post Books in my account?  If you put the ISBN in the search bar up top on the right than you'll only get the Post This Book option if there are no copies available. 

Mary - Yes, I'm going to the search option, and I have gotten the POST THIS BOOK option when there are books available.  Wish I could remember what books this has happened to lately, so I could use it as an example.  I think it was PLAYING FOR PIZZA.  I'm wondering if it's happening on books I've posted before, sent off and are in my Transaction file?  This might be the case, as I've posted several copies of PFP and had them all taken.  I was able to post it.  That's not the problem.  I;m just wondering why the POST THIS BOOK doesn't come up (this doesn't happen often, by the way).  I was really just curious.  Thanks.  Pat

I just put in Playing for Pizza. It gave me the Post this Book for the one's not available and the Order this Book for the one's that are available. 

I was attempting to post a book to a members shelf last week and though tI was loosing it when I didn't see the "Post this book" button. The member had his shelf on hold.... Not sure if that could be the issue here without reading all the above posts, but just my experience with the missing button.

If their account was on hold it wouldn't let you post a WL book directly to them unless they had it on autorequest.  At least this is how I think it works. 

Nope - my shelf's not on hold.  Don't know why it does it, and it's really not a problem.  Just curious.  Will, in the future, check to see if it happens on books I've posted before.  Pat

Pat, I believe that you won't get "Post this Book" if the book is already on your bookshelf.

If you are going in through the search function you will get the Post This Book button on any book that is not currently in the system. You will get the Order This Book button instead if it is available in the system. It will say This Book is on Your Shelf (or something to that effect) and neither button will be available on anything already on your shelf. So the only books you will get the Post This Book button when you search is those that are not available in the system (You will also see the Buy It New and WL too). If you don't get those buttons, then at least one copy is available in the system. That is why Mary points out that you would need to go through the Post Books function to add any that are available in the system, because that button would not be there.

You can also click on the title of the book and it will take you to a more detailed description page where there is an option to post the book.

It was because his shelf was on hold. Although, and I learned this the hard way-if you're account is on hold and you post a WL book directly to someone it goes on your shelf on hold.  When you come off hold it puts the WL book to FIFO.  But if his account on hold then it won't let you post a WL book to him unless he has it set to autorequest because it assumes he can't receive books at the moment.
