I love the tension and angst always knowing in the back of my head that there will be a HEA.

I just love a good story about how 2 people meet and fall in love. It's an escape thing too. Who wouldn't want to be loved and cherished like the women (or men) in these books?? Sometime real life is too depressing,it's nice to read about a happy ending.

I like the books that take me to another time and place or to a completelty different place in the case of fantasy novels.  For me its not always about the HEA but about the adventure in between.  I actually like a book to end unhappily every now and then.

The chemistry! All my favorite romance novels have two characters with chemistry that just sparks off the page. They don't have to be attractive, nice, or even like eachother at the start, but when an author can make ME really want to see these two characters get together than it's a fufilling read at the end.

For me, it's the escape. I love reading about characters' journeys. I'll read pretty much anything in the romance genre - historical, suspense, erotica, paranormal - and it's all about following two characters I (hopefully) have formed a bond with and seeing how their HEA comes about.

The only bad thing about reading romance, IMO? As a single gal myself, I worry that I'm going to expect my future dates/BFs to act the way my romance heroes do, lol.
