I have about 8 books to list. In your experience, is it better to list them after Jan 2nd or will this weekend be ok? Some have many wishers. Thanks!

This weekend would probably be fine.  By the time you pop them in the mail, the Christmas rush will be pretty much over.

I was wondering that myself.., almost put my bookshelf on vacation hold so I could avoid the post office lines.   Decided to accept a request and am heading out now to post office, hopefully it won't be too bad.

The post office here was pretty tame on both Friday & Saturday.

I made a request for a book a few days ago. The sender used the pbs postage thing and I suppose they got a credit because they did that. Now 3 days later they still have not mailed the book.  So apparently it is possible to get a credit for sending a book and wait a few days to actually send the book. Maybe this would solve your when to go to the post office issue.

The sender has 5 days to mark a book mailed from the time of acceptance.

I don't think they actually get the credit until the book is marked mailed.

They do not get the credit until the book is marked as sent. The tracking only option gets the credit after a scan as well.

If a PBS postage book times out, there will be no credit until it is marked as received in the Transaction Archive.
