I have a hardcover book, which has this stamped inside the first page - "THIS BOOK IS A FACTORY SECOND AND IS NOT INTENDED FOR RESALE."  I know what an ARC is, but don't think this would be considered that.  Thanks.  Pat

No - it's not an ARC.   I can't find any reason why it wouldn't be postable.  Seems to me the book would be like one with a reminder mark.

I would make sure to read the book first. A factory second not for resale sounds like something could be missing from the book and in that case it shouldn't be swapped. Any missing pages would make it not swappable, especially with the warning that it was a factory second.

Thanks everyone for the info.  DH read the book and didn't find anything wrong with it.  I'm not posting it though as someone took something unidentifiable and wrote ME on the blank inside page and it looks 'tacky'.  Was just wondering if this type of book could be posted though.  Pat

No I'd not post it because they are factory seconds for a reason.  I had a neighbor whose job it was to find flaws in books at a book publishing plant (scholastic).

Sometimes it was glue issues, not enough put on and they knew it would make the book weak. Or even typo's, blurred print, missing pictures or pages. or even extra pages.

You can always post it on the book bazzaar

Unless there are printing flaws that make the book unpostable, the book should be postable.
