I have a book that is on many members' wish lists but it has quite a bit of highlighting.  Is there some way I can let those people know that I have it and will send it to them without making them use a credit?  It is otherwise in great shape.

(1) try the book bazaar: describe the condition and ask people to PM you if they are interested. You are allowed to ask for a credit even if it is unpostable, but the transaction has to be unofficially carried out through PMs and buddying of credits.

(2) you can also follow the "textbook clause" procedures found in the Help Docs. Essentially, you can post it, and send the person a PM describing the condition. If you get a PM approving of the condition, you can send it. If you don't get a response or a "no thanks" then you have to cancel the order (your account will not be penalized for doing this.)

I think (1) would be easier. Good luck.

Thank you for knowing (and following) the swappability guidelines!

Sophia has posted the two best options.  As mentioned, the book can only be posted FIFO using the textbook waiver and often leaves the poster in limbo.  Will the wisher(s) want the book with highlighting and/or will they even respond to your pms?  Having received those types of pm's I always respond, whether I want the textbook or not, but this is not always the case.

Hope you find a new home for your book!
