MIL just gave me a book to post and I am not sure if it is postable or not.  It is an ex-library book with a barcode sticker on the front cover that has been blacked out about 2 inches by 1 inches.  It also has a sticker that is about 1/2" wide that wraps around the bottom of the spine.  Other wise the book looks brand new.  And it is a wishlisted book.    It is a postable book?

It is P.B. Ryan's Murder on Black Friday.

Yes, library books are totally postable. Post and hopefully the WL person will claim it right away!

sounds postable to me. If you are worried about it being marked RWAP because of the stickers, just PM the requestor and describe them before sending.

Unless they have specific RCs, you do not have to PM the requestor. (And even then, it's not part of the PBS rules that you *have* to PM the requestor.)

No, you don't but it's easier than trying to correct a mistakenly marked RWAP by someone who doesn't know the rules as well as they could.

but, by PMing you set yourself up for trouble by them perhaps not responding in time AND you make them think that everyone else will PM them under the same circumstances...don't set the rest of us up for grumpy people!

Post the book, ex-library books are postable!  If someone doesn't want ex-library books, they should have RCs in place.  If someone has RCs stating that they don't want ex-library books, just make sure that you click that the book does NOT meet the requestor's conditions, and it will pass on to the next person in line.  No PM necessary.

http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/search.php?terms=Library+books The help center is your friend! The book is postable, as long as none of the markings obscure text, no PM necessary. .

I send ex-library books all the time.  Haven't sent too many paperbacks though as most are pretty ratty by the time they get to the FOL, but the hardbacks, for the most part, are pristine, and I love the plastic covers on the book jackets.

Only once did I get a comment, and it was the requestor's fault (and she admitted it was), as she didn't want ex-library books, but hadn't an RC so stating.  Pat

Definitely postable! Those who don't want ex-library books should have that listed as a Requestor Condition...if they don't, basically speakint, it's tough noogies.:)

I've used heat to remove stickers by blowing a hair dryer for a few seconds to a minute on the sticker.  The heat softens the glue temporarily.
