The page adjacent and attached to the endpaper is separated from the spine. While it's not falling out, there is a gap along the crease, hence the spine is visible. Can it just be reglued, and if so, would it be postable?

Can you attach a photo?

I have repaired paperback books where the cover is separating from the pages, but those are easy and look exactly as they should once fixed. Hard to picture on a hardcover though.

It seems to be a straightforward repair, just wanted to make sure it could be posted, and how to describe the condition if requested.

edit: sorry, pasting the pic didn't work. Here is the link http://oi50.tinypic.com/o52tev.jpg

My usual rule is that if it looks like it's supposed to and you can't tell it's been repaired, then it's fine.

If you end up trying to make it better and make it worse, then that's not good and I wouldn't post it.

If you have any way to post a picture as Lisa mentioned before, we would be able to tell better.

Ok, thanks. I'll try repairing. If I'm not sure of the results, I'll check back here for opinions.

Looks like a little Elmer's glue might do the trick.

I would use glue that is meant for repairing book bindings. Regular glues are more likely to just snap back apart in the mail.

I  also use a similar rule of thumb as Sheila, if the repair looks like the book was never damaged, then I call it postable. If the book looks like a book with unpostable damage that was attempted to be repaired or covered up, then don't post it.

I'm kinda leaning that direction also.  Like Lisa, I've repaired a few paperbacks...when they can appear and function like new.  Isn't there a rule (written or unwritten) that tape cannot make a book postable?  Another element to keep in mind about book repairs and postability.

Good luck choco!
