So I have a book with 77 people on WL. (Long Hard Ride by Lorelie James).  It's in great shape except when I was opening it accidentaly put a puncture mark in the cover. The book was so heavily taped, I needed a scissors to get it out of the wrapping.  I used these little scissors with tiny points.

If I go the by the 1" tear rule then it's postable.  There's one tiny puncture mark that's only noticable from the inside of the cover and then 2 tiny little scrapes.

But then it could look like a bite mark to someone.  Postable or not?  I'd prefer to post it here but I'll post it on another site if can't post it here.

That's what I thought but I wanted to get some opinions. Someone PM'd me and I posted it right to them. So no worries about getting acused of sending a dog chewed book.  I have to hold the book really close to see the damage that's how small it is.  So I'm going by the under 1" rule.

Yet another good reason why it's wise to use small, pointy scissors, rather than your teeth, to open PBS book packages! :-)

I know people love to just completely cover books in tape. But this is the 2nd book that I've damaged trying to get it out of a mega taped wrapper. At least this one is still postable. I cut part of a cover off one book that was so heavily taped.  There's a difference between taping well and overkill. I have a touch of arthritis in my hands and I can't get them open w/o scissors if they have all that tape.  It's why I read more now and don't do embroidery anymore.  But the tape kills me.

Mary, that's on my WL and I'd be happy to take it, no matter what size that hole is!  :-)
