I received a book for my birthday which I have no intention of ever reading and don't want cluttering my bookshelves. It clearly states "Not for Resale" so unfortunately, I can't take it to Half Price Books or Goodwill, etc. It does have an ISBN (but no bar code), so... can I post it?

Does it have ARC or Advanced Reader's Copy on it anywhere?  If it does, then that is not postable.

what does the ISBN pull up?  does it pull up and does everything match your book including binding type (hardback/paperback)

Sometimes they give away free books with purchase and such and those are postable, the stores just cannot sell them separately.

hope that helps!

there will be a link when you get on the post books page that will say "post books without ISBN" or something similar, if you click on that link you can post it by putting in the information about it yourself

If it says Advanced Reader's Proof or Uncorrected Proof then I would say no.

Otherwise if it was just a freebie that was handed out a convention, with another book or something then  I would say yes. I posted a book of myster short stories that was a book club freebie. Basically it was a promo book to introduce new authors.
