I have a book that has a small scribble on the title page, which as I understand it still makes it postable. BUT what about another small scribble on a Table of Contents page? I know it can't have writing within the text pages, but does that include the Table of Contents? I'm still new and just want to make sure it's ok.

Well, some people will think its postable, and some will not. I think its postable, because I don't think the TOC is text pages, but other people will. It's a grey area, since PBS hasn't chosen to clarify exactly what they mean by "text page".

You can always treat it like a textbook, and PM the requestor of the book and describe the writing before you send it. If you do that, make sure you get an answering PM first, before you mail it out.

Thanks, Sara! That's what I was thinking I should do.

Personally, I consider both the title page and the TOC to be text pages, but that could just be because I'm a librarian and am anal retentive.  Both pages do have text, and are relevant to the book (not like ads for upcoming books by the same publisher, etc).

Cheers,
Catt

I work in publishing, and generally "text pages" are only story pages. Every other page in the book has a unique name. JMO :)

Its interesting to me how differently one can interpret things based on their experience :)
