Just a friendly reminder to double check your wrapped-book weight and postage amounts.

Just had a book arrive postage due for 10 cents. My mailman (very nice mailman) told me not to worry about it as I was down the block without my purse or any cash and went ahead and gave the book to me.

I've had 2 books delivered this week with postage due, one for 14 cents, the other came today and I had to pay $2.88 even though the sender had already paid paid $2.47.  There was a Priority sticker on it so guess that's where that came from.  No problem here, just lucky I was home.

But another friendly reminder to senders to please check your weights and amounts, JC

I always just wait in line and send it from my local post office as to not worry about stuff like that.

That was nice of your mailman to give you the book anyway. I am sure he had to pay the postage due himself. Good thing it was only 10 cents.

In my mom's small village, you would just put the dime in your mailbox for the mail carrier to take the next day when they deliver !

LOL, Jeanne. That's exactly what my mom does. They live in a rural area and mom never goes to the po to by stamps. She has a little bowl she puts whatever amount she needs for the stamps in.

Since the post office is a mile straight down the road, I  now just print out delivery confirmation only on the label and take it to the PO to mail to make sure that the receiver doesn't have to pay extra for the book.  Time isn't an issue since it's on the way to my small town and gives me an excuse to get out and roam around.
